My Favorite Toddler Products

Welcome to my second installment of “my favorite products”!  (Check out “My Favorite Baby Products” too.)  This guide will give you some ideas for your growing little one (approx 1-4 years old).  My girls are currently 5 1/2 years old and 18 months old, so we have a wide variety of products in our house right now to choose from.  (That’s a nice way to say that we have more stuff than we know what to do with and it often looks like a bomb went off in the playroom.)  (*This post was updated 7/13/19)

  1.  Boon Ripple Bath Mat
This bath mat is the perfect transition after a bath seat or baby bathtub.  It covers the entire tub & has suction cups along the underside to keep it in place and it provides great traction for your little one while they are in the tub.  My favorite features are the drain holes it has to allow water to drain and the built-in hook to hang it over the shower head to dry.  This has been my favorite bath mat to date.
  2. Innobaby Silicone Fish Bath Scrub
I love this so much that I am including it on this product guide too.  This colorful fish is soft enough for gentle baby skin, but perfect for kids of all ages. The silicone is antibacterial, mold-resistant and antimicrobial.  It can even be washed in the dishwasher! My girls love theirs and it makes bath time even more fun!
  3. Boon Cogs Building Bath Toy
This five-piece set has suction cups on the back of each piece and can be arranged in many different configurations along the inside of your bathtub or the tile surround, limited only by your child’s imagination.  They can spin them with their fingers or pour water over them to make them move.  These are definitely a favorite in our house.w
  4. Boon Building Bath Pipes
These, like the Boon Cogs above have suction cups on the back of each piece and can be configured in tons of different ways.  Your kiddo can then pour water through them.  These would be great to buy together with the Cogs for even more options for imaginative play.
  5. Green Sprouts Sprout Ware Floating Boats
This adorable 4-piece set of floating boats is the perfect bath or pool toy.  They are simple and modern and my girls love them.  They are made from a plant-based resin and are BPA and PVC free.
  6. Green Sprouts Sprout Ware Stacking Cups
Like the boats above, their stacking cups are great for in the bath, pool or with a water table!

  1.  Munchie Mug
I am including these on this product guide too because they are a must-have for every parent.  Run, do not walk to your computer right now to buy one, two, three or more of these RIGHT NOW!  These are THE BEST snack cups on the market and a necessity for anyone with kids!
  2. 8 the Plate
Do you have a picky eater?  I sure do.  My 5 year old HATES to try anything new and it’s been a fight any time we try to introduce something new to her or to try to get her to eat something she has decided she doesn’t like.  I learned about 8 the Plate after seeing someone post about them while at this year’s ABC Baby Expo.  I reached out to them and they were so sweet to send me one for free to try with Adalyn in exchange for my honest review.  Let me tell you that it is AWESOME!! The plate has eight sections and you alternate between neutral foods, new or typically disliked foods and a treat.  The plate spins in one direction and they can turn it after they finish the food in each section.  I love that she can see what’s coming next, which gives her incentive to try new things.  This has made such a difference in her attitude over new or typically disliked foods.

    3.  Replay Recycled
Replay makes a wide variety of mealtime products for kids:  plates, cups, bowls, utensils and snack stacks.  They come in a ton of color options and their prices are very reasonable.  They are made out of recycled milk jugs.  My favorite product they have is their snack stacks.  We use them every time we go on a trip or head out to the pool or the zoo.  You can stack as many as you’d like, so you can bring a lot of different snack options with you.

    4.  Munchkin Miracle 360 Trainer Cup (with handles) or Munchkin Miracle 360 Sippy Cup
We started with straw cups for both of our girls and to be honest I never found a brand that I absolutely loved.  They all seem to have issues leaking, so you’ll just have to try several out and see which you like the best if you go that route.  The next cup we move to is the Munchkin Miracle 360 cup.  There is a trainer cup that has handles and a regular version.  These have worked great for us and really help teach your little one how to drink out of a regular cup, while still offering you a spill-proof option.
thumbnail.jpg5.  Neat Solutions Sili-Stick Table Topper
These silicone placemats are inexpensive and can be rolled up for travel.  Their unique texture helps them to stick to any flat surface, providing a clean place for you to place your baby’s food or toys.  I keep one of these in each of our cars and diaper bags.
    6.  EZPZ Silicone Plates, Bowls & Placemats
These are another on my “must-have” list.  I hate picking food up off of the floor after a plate or bowl has been thrown from the highchair.  These uniquely designed plates and bowls are an all-in-one with a placemat and stick on the table or highchair tray.  There are several color and size options so you can find the one that will work best for your kiddo.
    7.  Stokke Tripp Trapp High chair
I am repeating this on this guide since it can be used from babies on up! This is a beautiful high chair that will grow with your child from babydom to adolescence!  (They hold up to 300 pounds!) I love that they are stylish and are made to last.  They may cost more than a traditional high chair, but they will last for years and can even be passed down!
    8.  Green Sprouts Snap & Go long-sleeve bib
I am repeating this from my babies guide since they have sizes from 12month-4T.  I love that it has long sleeves that protect your kiddo’s entire shirt!

For this category, I am repeating some of the things from my favorite baby products list because we are still using these during the toddler stage:

  1. Hatch Baby Rest Night Light, Sound Machine & Time to Rise
(Another repeat from my previous favorites guide.) We have one of these in each of the girls’ rooms.  For Charlotte we use it as a nightlight and sound machine.  For Adalyn, we use it to let her know when it’s time for bed and when she can get up in the morning.  It uses an app to set up favorite sound/light combinations or to set a timer.  We even take this with us when we travel and love it!
*UPDATE*  Hatch Baby just released the Rest+ in June 2019.  It retails for $79.99 (the regular units are $59.99) and now includes an audio monitor & a digital clock on the base.  It is also compatible with Alexa, wi-fi enabled (instead of only bluetooth) and it comes with rechargeable batteries so it can be used anywhere!
  2. Saranoni Luxury Blankets
(Yet another repeat from my previous guide)  With babies, you aren’t supposed to use blankets in their crib.  However, when your kiddo gets older, they provide a great way to soothe them during the night.  Saranoni makes sizes from the mini (can be used as a “lovie”) all the way up to ones for King-sized beds, so there is one to suit your kid’s needs (or your own).
  3. Baby Deedee Sleep Nest
This has been my favorite sleep sack that we’ve tried.  There are snaps on the shoulders so you can actually lay your sleeping baby on it and attach it around them.  The zipper zips up towards their head instead of away to allow you to do a diaper change without having to remove it completely.  They come in different fabric options to suit your climate and they make sizes to fit up to 36 months,  so your little one can stay warm and comfortable with one of these for awhile!
  4. Baby Deedee Sleepsie Footie Pajamas
These quilted pajamas are so cute and warm! I love that they also have elbow and kneepads to give some cushion for crawling babies.  They have several style options, some with short-sleeves and some without covered feet for every season and their sizes go up to 2T.
  5. Baby Deedee Sleepsie Footless Cotton Pajamas
If you are needing pajamas for warmer weather, then I recommend the cotton, footless version of the pajamas above. (They also have a short-sleeve version if you would rather try that)

  6. Big Sky Traders’ Foam Bed Rails
When you are wanting to transition your child from a crib or toddler bed to a regular bed, you will want to get these.  They have an anti-slip cover that helps keep them in place (and they do actually stay in place).  They also can be compressed and stored inside the included travel bag so you can take them with you wherever you go.  Adalyn has had them on her bed for several months and she loves them.  I love that they keep her secure in her big girl bed and don’t have to worry about her falling out of bed.TherJMG_0627
  7. Disney Pillow Pets
There are several options to choose from for your kiddo, from Mickey and Minnie to Eeyore, Pua (Moana) and more!  We have the denim Minnie and she is so cute!

9.  Baby Deedee Sleepsie Velour Pajamas
These are Baby Deedee’s newest pajamas and they are so soft!  They are cozy sweatshirt material on the outside with a furry lining.

I will be repeating a couple of these from my “favorite baby products” because they work for toddlers too.

  1. Baby Jogger City Mini Zip Stroller
When we went on our trip to New York City earlier this year, I wanted a stroller that folded small and not as long as the Summer Infant 3D Lite.  I found this stroller and it fit the bill perfectly!  It has a deep seat, so even my 5 year old could ride in it if needed. It also has a good-sized basket and pushes smoothly with one handlebar instead of the two that a traditional umbrella stroller offers.  You can even purchase a carrying bag with backpack straps to make carrying it even easier.
  2. Cool Caboose Cooling Seat Liner
It gets hot in Texas…really, really hot.  Cool Caboose helps keep my little one cool in her stroller if we have to go out and brave the heat.  It has been a lifesaver!
  3. iPlay Baby Flexible Sunglasses
The Flexible Sunglasses frames gently bend to fit baby’s face & ears for maximum coverage & comfort, and the elastic stay-put strap ensures glasses stay on. Tinted lenses are made without BPA and protect baby’s eyes from harmful UVA & UVB rays.  They come in three colors: turquoise, pink and white and two sizes:  0-24 months and 2T-4T.

  4. OneKid Road Coats
These car seat safe coats are a must have for any child.  The unique design has two zippered layers, allowing your child to wear it safely while buckled into their car seat or booster with the straps only going over the thinner inner layer instead of the entire coat.  There are several options to choose from, depending on the climate where you live.  My girls both have their transition coat, which works for temps above 30 degrees F.  If it gets colder where you live or it snows, they have coats to keep your little one not only warm, but safe.

5.  iPlay Baby Sun Hats
These come in three different styles, but all are breathable and offer UPF 50+ sun protection.  These are a must have for sunny summer days!

6.  iPlay Baby Swimwear
iPlay offers swimsuits, reusable swim diapers, rash guards and even water shoes!  Their products are high quality and the shirts provide UPF 50+ sun protection, which is needed in the hot Texas sun for my fair-skinned toddler.  They fit true to size and are so cute!

  1. Globe Totters Organic Toy City Blocks
I love toys that are unique and Globe Totters’ blocks are just that!  Each of their blocks represents a different city (14 to choose from). I received the New York City and Brooklyn blocks for free in exchange for my posts and we LOVE them!  It is so great for the girls to have a fun reminder of our trip to The Big Apple.  Check out their website to see what other cities they offer and get some for your kids too!

    2.  Grimm’s Small Wooden Rainbow
Grimm’s Spiel and Holz makes the most beautiful and high-quality wooden toys.  I love that they allow for open-ended and imaginative play for my girls.  This is just one of our favorite Grimm’s toys.  See below for some of our others.

    3.  Grimm’s Rainbow Stacking and Nesting Bowls
Both of my girls love stacking these colorful bowls and putting things inside of them.  They are a great compliment to the rainbow friends below.

    4.  Grimm’s Rainbow Friends
These adorable and colorful peg dolls go perfectly with our other Grimm’s toys.  They even come with their own little tray to keep them which is great for storage.  Use your judgement with these as they are smaller toys and can be a choking hazard.  (We also love the Grimm’s Small Stepped Wooden Pyramid of Blocks, but I would not recommend this for children under 3 years old.  I will be including this in my next preschool/elementary age favorites guide.)

    5.  Fat Brain Toys’ Tobbles Neo
These were one of Charlotte’s first toys.  She started playing with it as soon as she could sit up and still plays with it today, over a year later.  The colorful balls have a texture that makes it easy for little fingers to grasp and the weighted bottom makes it easy for them to stack the pieces.
    6.  Fisher Price Brilliant Basics Stack & Roll Cups
These are one of Charlotte’s favorite toys.  She loves to stack the pieces and also put the corresponding pieces together to make balls.  I love the bright colors and that it doesn’t take up much space.

    7.  LeapFrog My Own Leaptop
Kids love to do the things that mom and dad do, so this cute little “laptop” is the perfect toy for that!  Both of my girls have loved pressing all of the buttons and making all of the sounds.  You can customize it to say their name and as your little one gets older, this will help them learn too!

    8.  LeapFrog My Pal (Violet…they also make a Scout, who is green)
You can connect this to your computer or smart phone and customize this for your child.  It will even say their name!

    9.  LeapFrog Chat and Count Smart Phone
My girls are ALWAYS wanting to play with my phone.  This toy phone is the perfect size to keep in my purse to avoid public toddler meltdowns when I won’t let Charlotte have my phone.  (If only this trick would work on Adalyn, but she is too old for it to work now.)

    10.  The Nugget
This is by far the best thing my girls have ever gotten.  It is part furniture, part playroom adventure.  It can be configured in so many ways that are only limited by your little ones’ imagination.  They retail for $229 and never go on sale (unless you purchase multiple at a time).  They are worth EVERY SINGLE PENNY.  We got our first one from my mom and dad for the girls for Christmas.  We will be getting another one for them this Christmas.  The covers are washable and you can even purchase replacement covers for $99.  My girls play with their Nugget every single day and it still looks brand new.  This is a must have for any kid!Photo Jan 02, 12 20 03 PM

    11.  Melissa and Doug Shopping Cart
My girls LOVE to play store and this cart has held up for the past 4+ years and is still in great shape.  I love that it looks like a real shopping cart.

    12.  KidKraft Corner Kitchen
We bought this for Adalyn when she was around 2 years old.  She was probably still a bit young for it, but she did play with it some.  As she has gotten older she uses it a lot.  Charlotte has played with it more, even at only 18 months because she likes to do what her big sister does.  I will warn you though, it took us a looooooooong time for us to put this together, so be sure to have enough wine and Netflix shows to binge to help you survive the process.

    13.  Learning Resources Play Food Bundle (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
If you are looking for play food to go along with a play kitchen, Learning Resources makes the best on the market.  These are realistic and high-quality and will last through multiple kids.  There are some smaller items you might have to put up if your kiddo is younger, but most of these in this bundle are big enough to be safe.  I love that this bundle comes with some carrying baskets too, so your littles can sort and carry the food.
    14.  Fat Brain Spoolz
We love Fat Brain Toys and their Spoolz have not disappointed!  They are made of gorgeous, bright colors and you can stack them and roll them and they inspire tons of imaginative play!

    15.  Guidecraft Grippies Shakers
My girls love all of the ways they can connect these magnetic pieces.  They are so much fun!
