My Favorite Baby Products

I remember back when I got pregnant with my first daughter (who is now 5 years old) being filled with so much joy.  However, after the reality started to set in I was hit with the overwhelming amount of choices of products that were supposed to help keep my baby happy, healthy, safe and reaching all of the appropriate milestones she was supposed to meet.

What brand of diapers do I buy?    What kind of bottle will she like?  Do I offer her a pacifier?  Will I be able to breastfeed?  How will I get her to sleep?  What toys do you get for a baby?  How much childproofing stuff do I need?  What’s the best baby shampoo?  Do I need a wipes warmer?

If I can help guide you to anything that might make your first year of parenthood any easier, that is my goal.  The baby/children’s product industry is forever growing and evolving.  There were so many new things that I discovered when I was pregnant with Charlotte that didn’t even exist when I had Adalyn.  I will try to add to this post as I discover more items.

Please feel free to comment below with your favorite baby products too!  It takes a village and we can all learn from each other!

BABY REGISTRY

  1.  Babylist.com
Babylist allows you to create a baby registry from ANY store all in one place!  This means you can include items from big box stores like Buy Buy Baby and Target along with Amazon and small shops too!  It is so convenient!

DIAPER BAGS & ACCESSORIES

  1.  Twisted Mustard Seed Heartbreakerimg_5439
Twisted Mustard Seed was founded by my dear friend, Vicky Hawkins.  Her bags are both stylish and functional and are made of the highest quality materials.  The Heartbreaker is a beautiful leather bag that I have used daily since I got it over two years ago.  It is still in amazing condition!
  2. Twisted Mustard Seed Voyager
The Voyager is their men’s backpack-style bag.  My husband loves the contrasting canvas and leather fabrics and he also loves having a bag to carry that was created just for a man’s style.
  3. Fawn Design Original Bag
    photo jun 02, 10 51 59 am
I bought my Fawn Design bag when I got pregnant with my second daughter.  I knew I would need a larger bag that was comfortable to carry and this did not disappoint!  I have it in brown and would love to get it in black or gray as well.  It is made well and fits everything I need!
  4. Jellyfish DB  Organizing Bags
I bought these organizing bags to use inside of my Fawn since it is a large bag.  These help keep everything organized and easy to find.  They come in several fabric options to suit your style.
  5. Tote Savy Bag Organizer
If you choose to not use organizing bags, you can also try the Tote Savy to organize either your diaper bag or purse.  What’s great about this is that you can just quickly remove it and move it to another bag without having to unpack and repack everything.
  6. Ju ju be Paci Pod
The bottom of my purse is never clean.  It’s full of goldfish crackers, fruit snacks and probably a million lost ponytail holders and bobby pins.  I love the Paci Pod because it keeps emergency binkys easy to find and clean.
  7. Skip Hop Grab & Go Snug Seal Wipes Case
Carrying an entire package of wipes takes up a lot of room in your bag and can add too much weight, so this wipes case allows you to carry just the amount you need and keeps them from drying out.  I also keep one in my car along with a portable changing pad.

HEALTH & GROOMING

  1.  NoseFrida
This is a MUST HAVE for every new parent.  The nasal aspirators they send you home from the hospital with have nothing on this amazing, yet disgusting product.  It is the best nasal aspirator ever!  I use the saline spray first to help loosen any snot, then use the NoseFrida to suck it all out!
  2. Mommy’s Bliss Gripe Water
    jmg_7190
Gripe Water is an all natural herbal supplement used to ease gas and stomach discomfort often associated with colic, hiccups, and teething
  3. Mommy’s Bliss Gas Relief Drops
Simethicone-based remedy that provides fast and safe relief for babies suffering from stomach discomfort, gas, and general fussiness.
  4. Oogie Bear Ear & Nose Cleaner
Babies have such tiny little nostrils and ears.  This makes it so much easier to clean out those stubborn boogers and ear wax without causing any damage or pain.
  5. Windi
Single use hollow tube that inserts into the baby’s bottom to instantly release gas, when inserted. (Gross, I know…but VERY effective.  When your baby is screaming from gas discomfort, you will try anything!)
  6. Babyganics Shampoo & Body Wash (daytime version)
100% natural NeoNourish seed oil blend to help nurture & support baby’s skin using plant-based ingredients.  Tear free & non-allergenic.
  7. Babyganics Shampoo & Body Wash (nighttime version)
  8. Innobaby Silicone Fish Bath Scrub
This colorful fish is soft for gentle baby skin and the silicone is antibacterial, mold-resistant and antimicrobial.  It can even be washed in the dishwasher! My girls love theirs and it makes bath time even more fun!
  9. Summer Infant Deluxe Baby Bath Seat
We used one of these seats for Adalyn and Charlotte.  It was so great because it could be used in either the sink or bathtub and didn’t take up a lot of space since it can be folded relatively flat.
  10. Safety 1st Cradle Cap Brush & Comb
Charlotte had horrible cradle cap.  This brush/comb was awesome and really helped clear it up much faster!
  11. Young Living Thieves Spray
A portable essential oil spray ideal for cleaning small surfaces. It freshens counters, sinks, door handles, toilets, and more. It’s safe to use around children and the perfect size to throw in a purse, backpack, or luggage.
  12. Young Living Thieves Waterless Hand Purifier
This hand purifier is conventient, portable, long-lasting and is enhanced with natural Peppermint oil to cleanse and purify hands.
  13. Young Living Thieves Cleaner
This amazing smelling cleaner allows you to get a deep cleaning without dangerous or synthetic ingredients.

BOTTLE FEEDING
(I’m not going to go through different brands of bottles in this guide.  Every baby is different with their bottle preference, so it may take some trial and error to discover what works best for them.)

  1.  Dapple Bottle & Dish Liquid
    img_8519
I was fortunate enough to win a year’s supply of this when I was pregnant with Charlotte.  It is so awesome that I have continued buying it after I ran out of the bottles I won! It sffectively cleans bottles, sippy cups, pacifiers and breast pump components using green technology  thattargets milk residue and uses baking soda to combat odor.  It is made with plant-based ingredients- and is made without phthalates, parabens, SLS, SLES and dyes.
  2. Boon Grass, Stem & Twig Drying Set
I had no idea how many different parts were involved with breast pumps and bottles. I am so thankful I found this drying rack!  It keeps all of the parts in one place when they are drying and it looks cute on the counter.
  3. Innobaby 2-in-1 Silicone Bottle Brush
This is the absolute best bottle brush on the market.  It is the only one I have found that can get into all of the nooks and crannies of any bottle, sippy cup or breast pump part.
  4. Dr. Brown’s Deluxe Baby Bottle Warmer
I love this bottle warmer because it has an easy to use timer and a chart that tells you the recommended time for all kinds and sizes of bottles as well as pacifiers too.

BREASTFEEDING

  1.  Back Buddy Support Pillow
    jmg_7252
Back pain while nursing is no joke.  This support pillow is absolutely amazing and was a lifesaver for me!  Now I use it when I watch TV because it’s so comfortable!
  2. Boppy Nursing Pillow
I have tried several different brands of nursing pillows, but the Boppy is the one that worked the best for me.  It was comfortable and easy to use and I like the variety of fabrics, colors and patterns they offer.
  3. Medela Tender Care Hydrogels
I am convinced that my post-partum nurse was an angel.  My second daughter had a severe lip and tongue tie and breastfeeding was so painful until her revision at 7 days old.  My nurse brought me these while I was still in the hospital and they were like a gift from God!  I kept these in stock during my first few months of nursing and stored them in the fridge to make them even more soothing.  These are a must-have for any new nursing mom!
  4. Sarah Wells Breast Pump Bags
If you are returning to work and don’t wand to have to be obvious about carrying your breast pump and all of its gear with you, this is a great option for storage.  They offer so many different stylish options and no one will know you have your breast pump with you!
  5. Sarah Wells Pumparoo Breast Pump Part Storage Bag
When I returned to work, I pumped either at my desk or in my car.  Neither location was convenient to deal with milk-covered breast pump parts.  This storage bag was so helpful in giving me a place to hold them without getting milk all over the place.
  6. Medela Pump In Style Advanced Breast Pump
I used this pump with both of my girls.  I was fortunate that insurance covered it both times.  It is easy to use and well made and worked great for me during both of my breastfeeding journies.
  7. Medela Breast Milk Cooler Set
Milk storage after you pump is a necessity.  This was perfect for me and I loved that it stored the milk, kept it cool and was small enough to store easily in my bag until I went home.
  8. Kindred Bravely Nursing Wear
Their nursing wear is both fashionable and practical.  I had their Simply Sublime nursing tank, high-waisted post partum panties (perfect for after a c-section) , Davy nursing and maternity pajamas and Lucille nursing nightgown.  Check out their website above for even more options!
  9. Bamboobies Washable Reusable Nursing Pads
Who really wants to think about nursing pads?  Well, they are a necessity, and are usually pretty ugly.  These, however are heart-shaped and so cute!  They are washable, comfortable, work well and are thin enough to not show.
  10. Bamboobies Nursing Wear
I had some of the Bamboobies nursing bras as well as their nursing tank.  They were all comfortable and well-made.  I definitely recommend these!
  11. Bamboobies Nursing Balm Nipple Cream
Not all nipple cream is created equal.  When your nipples are sore, cracked and bleeding like mine were (too much info?), you need something that actually helps heal them. This is 100% organic, lanolin-free and contains calendula flower.

FEEDING

  1.  Inspired Start Early Allergen Introduction Baby Foods
    img_5778
I was approached by Inspired Start when Charlotte was 6 months old.  It was perfect timing, because her pediatrician had just discussed early allergen introduction with me at her appointment the week before.  Inspired Start made this process SO EASY!!!  I just introduced one new potential allergen every few days until I had made it through all 8 recipes.  Their packaging is beautidul and easy to understand and their foods taste amazing!  This is one my absolute favorite baby products and I have so enjoyed getting to work with this amazing company!
  2. Pure Spoon Fresh Organic Baby Food
    jmg_0556
If you want to make your own baby food, but don’t have the time, let Pure Spoon do it for you! Their foods are fresh, handmade and cold-pressed.  They are delivered right to your door, which is so convenient!
  3. Grabease First Self Feeding Utensil Set
    img_5570
When your little one is exploring feeding themselves, these are the perfect way to introduce them to utensils that they can’t choke themselves with!  They come in a variety of colors, which makes them really fun too!
  4. Munchie Mug
Run, do not walk to your computer right now to buy one, two, three or more of these RIGHT NOW!  These are THE BEST snack cups on the market and a necessity for anyone with kids!
  5. Stokke Tripp Trapp High chair
This is a beautiful high chair that will grow with your child from babydom to adolescence!  (They hold up to 300 pounds!) I love that they are stylish and are made to last.  They may cost more than a traditional high chair, but they will last for years and can even be passed down!
  6. Stokke Tripp Trapp Baby Set
The baby set allows you to use the Tripp Trapp for babies as young as 6 months by adding a secure seat and 5 point harness.
  7. Stokke Tripp Trapp Tray
You can use the Tripp Trapp either with this tray, or just by pushing it up against your existing table. I love all of the options they offer to truly make this a piece of furniture that will grow with your family.
  8. Peg Perego Rialto Portable High Chair
I won this at a baby event and love it! We keep it at my in-laws’ house because it just sits on an existing chair and can be easily folded and stored in the bag that comes with it.  It would also be great for travel!
  9. Dr. Brown’s First Straw Cup
Both of my girls went straight from a bottle to a straw cup.  This one has been great for Charlotte!  It doesn’t leak and comes with a cap for easy storage in your bag.

SLEEP

  1. Fisher Price Deluxe Auto Rock ‘n Play Sleeper
    img_8624
This is one of my must-have baby products! Both of our girls slept in one of these next to our bed for the first several months of their lives (at least).  I even used it when I first went back to work and took them with me.  It doesn’t take up much room and is lightweight and easy to move around the house if needed.  I love the deluxe version because it rocks automatically.  This feature is AMAZING!!
  2. Hatch Baby Rest Night Light, Sound Machine & Time to Rise
    JMG_9056.jpg
We have one of these in each of the girls’ rooms.  For Charlotte we use it as a nightlight and sound machine.  For Adalyn, we use it to let her know when it’s time for bed and when she can get up in the morning.  It uses an app to set up favorite sound/light combinations or to set a timer.  We even take this with us when we travel and love it!
  3. Baby Deedee Sleep Nest
    dsc_0040
This has been my favorite sleep sack that we’ve tried.  There are snaps on the shoulders so you can actually lay your sleeping baby on it and attach it around them.  The zipper zips up towards their head instead of away to allow you to do a diaper change without having to remove it completely.
  4. Baby Deedee Sleepsie Footie Pajamas
    jmg_8448
These quilted pajamas are so cute and warm! I love that they also have elbow and kneepads to give some cushion for crawling babies.
  5. Tula Baby Blankets
    jmg_6502
Tula is well-known for their amazing baby carriers.  I had no idea that they made blankets too until I got to review them!  They have so many color and pattern options and they are SO SOFT!  These are on the top of my list for blankets now and they also make great gifts!
  6. Modern Burlap Blankets
    img_8666
Modern Burlap is known for their beautiful swaddle blankets with quotes or scriptures printed on them.  They are such special keepsakes that also make for gorgeous photo backdrops.
  7. Saranoni Luxury Blankets
    dsc_0500
Ok y’all, I have to admit that I have a problem.  I am absolutely addicted to Saranoni blankets!  I can’t remember how many I own now, but let’s just say there are some in just about every room of the house and the cars too.  We have all of the sizes, from mini, to receiving, to toddler to teen to xl.  They are the softest blankets I’ve ever owned.  They make the most awesome gifts for babies to adults and can be personalized too!

PLAY/ACTIVITY

  1.  Skip Hop Uplift Multi-Level Adjustable Bouncer
    img_8565
I love bouncer seats, but have never liked that you have to set them on the floor.  This one solves that by adjusting up to the level of a couch.  It’s awesome and allows your baby to see what’s going on and interact with people before they are able to sit up on their own.
  2. Fisher Price Sit-Me-Up Floor Seat
    dsc_0101
This was perfect for when Charlotte wanted to sit up on her own, but still hadn’t mastered it yet.  She really loved it!
  3. Skip Hop Alphabet Zoo Activity Gym
    dsc_0102
There are many types of activity mats to choose from.  This one was great for both Adalyn and Charlotte when they were babies.  I loved the bright colors and all of the animals.
  4. Fisher Price Cradle ‘n Swing
    img_8606
Adalyn wasn’t a big fan of the swing, but Charlotte absolutely loved it!  It swings both side to side and front to back, plays music or nature sounds, has a mobile and some cute little star lights.  Hopefully your little one will love it too!
  5. Infantino Textured Multi Ball Set
    JMG_8219
These are great for babies of all ages.  There are so many sizes, textures and colors for them to choose from and to keep them occupied.
  6. Infantino Sensory Discover & Play Ball
This is easy for little hands to grab and has a lot of different things for their eyes to check out.
  7. Kleynimals Keys
    dsc_0003
I absolutely love these stainless keys.  They are a great alternative to babies playing with your own keys.  They can even be engraved to make an awesome keepsake.  Check out their website for other items they offer too!
  8. Boon Cogs Water Gears
These have been great now that Charlotte is older and able to sit up in the bath on her own.  Adalyn likes to play with them too!

TRAVEL & OUTDOORS

  1. Honda Odyssey Minivan
One of the things I swore I would never do was drive a minivan, but add 2 kids into the mix (and all of their stuff) and here we are.  I will tell you now that I wouldn’t have it any other way.  I am in love with my van!  It has made life with two SO much easier!  Road trips are a dream too!  Go ahead and join me in waving the white flag of surrender…you won’t regret it!
  2. Bugaboo Cameleon 3 Stroller
    img_4961
Bugaboo makes some of the most luxurious strollers available.  They have a pretty steep pricetag, but they are made to last and push like a dream.  I have loved my Cameleon and the versatility it offers (bassinet, parent-facing, forward-facing).  If you are looking for a stroller that will last through multiple kiddos, this won’t disappoint!
  3. Summer Infant 3D Lite Stroller
This stroller is a great option for a secondary stroller or a travel stroller.  It is inexpensive, lightweight and folds compactly.  We keep one at my parents’ house and my nanny has one in her car.  We have used it at Walt Disney World and in New York City.
  4. Baby Jogger City Mini Zip Stroller
    img_1553
When we went on our trip to New York City earlier this year, I wanted a stroller that folded small and not as long as the Summer Infant 3D Lite.  I found this stroller and it fit the bill perfectly!  It has a deep seat, so even my 5 year old could ride in it if needed. It also has a good-sized basket and pushes smoothly with one handlebar instead of the two that a traditional umbrella stroller offers.  You can even purchase a carrying bag with backpack straps to make carrying it even easier.
  5. Lux & Leather Handmade Leather Stroller Accessories
I love that Lux and Leather allow you to customize your stroller and make it look more luxurious.  They offer custom handlebar covers and bellybar covers for most strollers in a wide variety of leather colors.
  6. Cool Caboose Cooling Seat Liner
    dsc_0070
It gets hot in Texas…really, really hot.  Cool Caboose helps keep my little one cool in her stroller if we have to go out and brave the heat.  It has been a lifesaver!
  7. Milk Snob Nursing and Car Seat Cover
Milk Snob covers are so versatile!  They can be used as car seat covers, nursing covers, high chair covers and shopping cart covers!  The fabric is so soft and comes in a wide variety of options to choose from.
  8. Peg Perego Primo Viaggio 4-35 Car Seat
This infant car seat has been awesome for Charlotte.  It is easy to install, keeps your baby safe and is pretty too!
  9. Babiators Sunglasses
Kids love to try to bend things, especially sunglasses, which doesn’t end well.  Babiators solves this problem by making sunglasses that are able to be bent and are guaranteed for the first year you own them, even if you lose them!  These are one of my favorite products because they are made to last!  None of the pairs we have bought have broken, but a couple have been lost over the years.
  10. Beau & Belle Littles Nageuret Reusable Swim Diapers
    img_3688
With Adalyn, I used disposable swim diapers for her.  They were expensive, didn’t work great and I always had some leftover at the end of the season and those didn’t fit the next year. BBLittles sells reusable swim diapers that fit from birth to around 3 years old! They come in a variety of fun patterns and they work great!
  11. iPlay Sun Protection Hat
    img_1909
Protecting your little one’s head from the harsh sun is a must.  iPlay’s sun hats are perfect for that!   They come in a variety of sizes and colors to fit any little one.
  12. iPlay Swim Wear
iPlay offers a wide variety of swimsuits, swim diapers and swim shirts to keep your little one stylish and ready for some fun in the sun!
  13. Fisher Price On-The-Go Baby Dome
    img_3772
This was an absolute lifesaver when we took a family trip to the beach when Charlotte was 4 months old. It gave her a safe place to hang out, with shade and complete screened cover, but it still allowed air flow.  I would recommend it for babies up to around 6-7 months old though because it’s not very big.
  14. Binxy Baby Shopping Cart Hammock
    img_2015
When you go shopping with your baby and they remain in their infant car seat, it takes up the entire shopping cart.  This allows your baby to either lay in the hammock so they can see everything, or you can just set the infant car seat on it, allowing for you to still access the space inside of the cart.  This is a genius invention!  I loved using this!

DIAPERING

  1.  Diaper Dekor Plus Hands-Free Diaper Pail
    img_4937
I won my Diaper Dekor in a giveaway, so I didn’t choose it, however, after using it for over a year now it is the only diaper pail I would buy!
  2. Munchkin Arm & Hammer Diaper Bag Dispener with Bags
This is perfect to keep in your diaper bag or car so you have something to put really gross dirty diapers in, especially if there is not a trash can nearby.
  3. Munchkin Waterproof Changing Pad Liners
My changing pad covers were always part of the design of our nursery and I wanted to keep them looking nice if possible.  These changing pad liners sit on top of the changing pad and are washable.  I even carry them in my car and my diaper bag.  These are a must have for me!
  4. Triple Paste Medicated Diaper Rash Ointment
This has been THE BEST diaper rash ointment I have used for severe diaper rash.  It clears it up in just a day or two!

TEETHING

  1.  Loulou Lollipop Teethers
    jmg_6594
Loulou Lollipop makes some of the cutest teethers I’ve ever seen!  From tacos to ice cream cones to bubble tea and more, they have so many great options, it’s hard to choose!
  2. Sophie the Giraffe Natural Rubber Teether
    img_4683
Sophie is a favorite in our house.  We got our first one with Adalyn.  I love that it is made of natural rubber, which gives it a texture that little hands can hold onto.
  3. Wink Naturals Cool Gums Teething Gel
Teething sucks.  Anything that helps is a win in my book and this teething gel is great!  I won it in a giveaway, but would definitely recommend it for your little one!
  4. Baby Banana Infant Training Toothbrush & Teether
I also won this in a giveaway and it has become one of Charlotte’s favorite teethers.  She can reach all the way back to her molars for relief and it starts her knowing about a toothbrush early.
  5. iPlay Baby Silicone Teethers
    img_2585
iPlay teethers are great for your little one.  They are easy for them to hold and they come in a variety of shapes and colors.
  6. Baltic Essentials Amber Teething Jewelry
    jmg_8357
I have used amber teething necklaces for both of my girls.  Baltic Essentials has so many options to choose from that even include other therapeutic uses for things like allergies or tummy issues.  I even wear them too!  Charlotte has 12 teeth and has been wearing a necklace since she was around 4 months old.  I have never noticed the typical teething symptoms since she has been wearing these.
  7. Chomp ‘n Chews Finger Teethers
    img_1648.jpg
I was fortunate to meet the founders of Chomp ‘n Chews at an event in Dallas and fell in love with their teethers!  Charlotte loves to try to chew on my fingers and this allows her to chew without hurting me!  Their designs are so fun and colorful.  She loves them!
  8. Comotomo Teether
This teether was recommended by several friends.  I love the size and design of it that allows little ones to hold it and get it to all of the areas of their mouth that need relief.

NURSERY FURNITURE

  1.  Best Chairs Quinn Swivel Glider
    Photo May 07, 2 08 49 PM
Best Chairs make the most comfortable chairs!  You can customize the fabrics to fit your nursery design and they have several options of styles of chairs.  We love our glider as well as our recliner.  They are worth every penny!
  2. Best Chairs Tryp Recliner
  3. Babyletto Hudson 3-in-1 Convertible Crib
    Photo-May-07-12-46-46-PM.jpg
This crib is modern and stylish and goes with any nursery decor.  It is made of high quality materials that will last for multiple kiddos too!

BABYWEARING

  1.  Tula Free To Grow
This carrier is awesome in that it works from newborn to toddler.  You are able to adjust the width and height of it and don’t have to use an infant insert for a newborn.  It is really comfortable and comes in a variety of colors/patterns.
  2. Solly Baby Wrap
I loved the Solly wrap when Charlotte was a squishy newborn and so did she!  The fabric is so soft and comfortable and she loved being worn in it.
  3. Beachfront Baby Wrap
Having a toddler who loves the water as well as a new baby can be difficult.  This was a lifesaver for me!  I used it every time we went to the pool and also on our family trip to the beach.  It was comfortable and I loved that it was made to be worn in water!
  4. XOXO Buckle Wrap Carrier
I won this in a giveaway, so I wasn’t very familiar with this carrier when I received it.  I have to say that it is one of my favorite carriers now!  It has a buckle waist, which makes it comfortable and convenient, but then you wrap the rest of the fabric like a traditional wrap.  The fabric is really soft and comfortable and I had no issues using it even as Charlotte got bigger.
  5. Sakura Bloom Ring Sling
I always wanted to try a ring sling, but was so intimidated by them.  Some of my awesome mom friends helped me get it threaded and positioned properly and it is now one of my go-tos!  It is so quick and easy to get Charlotte “up” in it and is great for running into a store when I want my hands free.  I have one in linen and one in silk.  The silk is GORGEOUS and is like a fancy accessory. Check out their many options…there is one to suit your taste!
